DRAMAROKE, Karaoke for films, is an experimental performace system prototype. Participants perform iconic scenes from popular films. Using digital sound and video editing tools, I erase a character whose presence is then replaced by a live performer. Similar to Karaoke, the performer is guided through performance by a synchronized script system. Using a large scale rear projection, and mixing the performer's voice with the film's audio, the performer steps into the film, and assumes a role. I created Dramaroke as a key part of my graduate thesis.
